These headphones worked a hell of a lot better than my regular iPhone earbuds on the flight; they’re comfortable and cancel out enough noise for me to shout ‘WHAT?!’ at my friends whenever they try to speak to me. Perfect and hilarious (for me).

They’re also pretty perfect on flights if you’re looking to get some sleep, even without music playing the noise-cancellation managed to block out enough ambient noise to help me catch a few Zs.

Is it worth buying noise cancelling earphones? I’d say only if you fly regularly – for all the reasons above. I haven’t reached for these day-to-day because they’re a little bulky (there’s a massive switch attached), there’s no track-change function and, to be honest, it’s a bit dangerous to live in the heart of London and not to be able to hear things around you.

Having said that, they’re a sound investment if you fly regularly and will always be in my carry-on from now on.
